Methodology
US name rankings
We compile the U.S. Social Security Administration's Popular Baby Names data — which ranks names by the number of Social Security card applications for births in each year — from 2008 through 2025. For each year we present the top names for boys, girls, and overall, and for each name its rank history, peak year, and birth counts where available. Figures reflect the SSA's published data and may be revised by the source.
Korean name rankings
The Korean section (/kr) uses birth-registration name statistics published by the Supreme Court of Korea's electronic family-register system, with per-syllable hanja candidates from the official name-use hanja list. See the Korean methodology page for details.
What we don't provide
NameRanky does not provide naming advice, fortune-telling, numerology, or any judgment about whether a name is lucky or suitable. We publish structured facts from public statistics only.
